3-on-3

I didn't know Charlie more than to nod and say hello, but I did hear second hand that he once batted
in Class A against Harvey Haddix who we all know pitched a 12-inning perfect game when he was in
the majors. I don't think he was nearly as good a basketball player as he was at baseball since Ron
Berger, Frank di Giacomo and me crushed Charlie, Mike Mangano, and Mike Lawlor in a 3-on-3
basketball game on 42nd street and the East River.

He was a great art director. Better that he chose advertising to make his living and not the NBA.
